This is a Season

You’re probably reading this on your phone. Maybe you’re standing in another long line with other harried customers; perhaps you’re at a red light that forces you to stop in a season of constant motion. Maybe you’re at home or work, trying to escape or avoid the emptiness of the mundane or the elephant in the room or relationship. Perhaps you’re sitting by the bedside of one you love, waiting and wondering what is next. Or maybe you’re in the bathroom. I get it. Sometimes, it is the only place to get a few uninterrupted moments in a world of interruptions. No judgment here. I may be in the next stall over, ladies.

Wherever you are and whatever you’re doing, I just wanted to say: This is a season. Whatever your season is, it is a season. A shift in the wind is coming. You’ll sense it, feel it, and slowly, things around you will change. So, hang in there because something new is on the horizon, just over the hill. Until it comes into view, look around for glimpses of hope, peace, joy, and love. I promise they are there – in you, around you, and in those who love you. I know this to be true because God is in you, around you, and in those who love you. And God is hope, peace, joy, and love.

So, as you put your phone away and return to whatever awaits you, remember: this is a season. It may be good. It may be challenging. Each season has its unique gifts and lessons. We receive them with gratitude, such as they are, as we wait for the morning.

Your heart will feel lighter

Everything will be brighter

Find peace in knowing

That all will be well in the morning

Close your lovely eyes

Can you feel the sunrise

All will be well in the morning.
