A random woman passed me today in a parking lot and gave me a beautiful compliment. After our exchange, I walked a little taller with a wider smile. Such a selfless, simple, and generous gift to give a stranger.
So, later I passed a woman in a striking green outfit and complimented her style. Maybe she walked a little taller and smiled a little wider, too.
This is how kindness works. Beauty comes in all kinds of ways. Physical beauty, acts of kindness and service, someone being brave and vulnerable. When you see it, speak it. Maybe if we call out beauty far more than we call out one another, it would be a more beautiful world. Not necessarily because it creates more beauty but because we train ourselves to see more clearly the beauty already there.
